  24. My point was *existing software*.  One of the original ideas behind
  25. the Amiga port of gcc was to be able to compile much of the GNU and
  26. other portable software available (that's why there's an
  27. ixemul.library).  Both assembly-language sources and asm ()-portions
  28. within C code would generate problems if MIT asm couldn't be dealt
  29. with.
